...............How many types of truss rod adjustment are there on current Fender Precision basses? The descriptions and pictures on Fender's website aren't always clear or accurate. Sometimes one can clearly see a head stock adjustment but the specifications say it is a "vintage-style butt adjust".

What you see in that specific photo is a plug for the truss slot. The adjustment IS at the heel, as advertised. Not all heel-adjusted necks were plug-less.

The other type is at the body side, often call "vintage Style".

...................Thanks! There seems to also be ones where there is a notch in the pick guard and some without. I just want to be sure that one doesn't require neck removal on any bass I order. Some Fenders also have a little wheel with holes at the body but I am not sure if any Precisions do.

Vintage Precisions all have the neck heel adjustment requiring popping the heel out of the neck pocket (technician's trick) or complete neck removal for adjustment.
All of the new Elite series basses have an easy access wheel adjuster at the heel.
American Standards and the new Professional series have hex head adjusters at the heel and pickguard cutouts for access.

............Great! So far, then, that makes four: vintage, wheel, hex at the heel and head stock. Which one is called "standard" as in Fender's description of the truss rod of the "Standard Precision Bass"? It looks like at the head stock but LeeJKirkham mentioned that some have a plug that looks like the adjustment point.

The current Standard Fender basses use the modern style truss adjustment at the headstock.

I think all the Ensenada, Mexico made Fender Standard instruments have the truss rod adjustment at the headstock.

................Thanks, everybody! It might seem like a detail but as a guitarist the neck bow of a bass is critical to me and I am always fiddling with it. I keep all of my truss rod adjustment covers off all the time. :D
