I am looking for an acoustic bass guitar these days. Read a review of Fender Kingman -
Acoustic bass guitar here and looking at the pros, I am guessing this would be perfect for me as a beginner.

Any suggestions?

Yes, the Kingman is an excellent acoustic/electric bass guitar. There isn't a better choice at that price point. Have you played any acoustic basses before? Are you sure that is what you want?

It was the best Fender. While the Kingman bass is still listed on this website under the products category most major dealers with an online presence no longer carry it, which is often the first sign of a model's demise. If you have a Kingman Bass lined up that you have tried out and like a lot then I would advise pulling the trigger. My major complaint about the Kingman Bass has always been the weak unplugged volume. As an alternative check out the Guild Westerly Collection B-140E which is also under the FMIC umbrella of brands. It is even more impressive than the Kingman, especially unplugged where it is much louder, but costs about 200 US Dollars more than a Kingman. The extra 200 bucks is money well spent. The Guild has possibly the best factory fretwork around. Both are TOP VALUES at their price point though. Then there is the Martin BCP model but it is over two-grand. I do not think the lofty Martin sounds any better than the Guild unplugged and when plugged in the Guild has less feedback issues. As far as value for the dollar goes the Kingman and the Guild Westerly are both tops at their price point for sure and the Guild Westerly may in fact be the BEST acoustic electric bass on the market at this time at any price.
