I have a new Squier CV Jazz(with extremely figured neck)..and a fretless Sammick 4 string with American Fender P and J Pickups. The J happens to be very close to the Leo Quan Bad*** replacement bridge. The body is solid...not plywood like some Sammicks.

I play through a Fender BXR 300C. Lotta headroom in a medium sized rig.

I end up worrying about higher priced gear too much.

Just bought a mid 90's Jazz Plus. I know I've announced this already. I'm proud of myself. Ya see?

I run my Precision Elite II through a Gallien-Krueger 1001-RBII and an SWR 8x10 Workingman's Tower. It will make your bones vibrate! I also have an older Digitech RP-1, for effects. I can get ANY sound out of that setup.

When playing live I use one of two rigs. The first is my MarkBass cmd 102p- 210 combo with a MarkBass 115HR extension cabinet for 500w of rumbling power!! I custom painted the grills fluorescent yellow! The second is my newly aqcuired Peavey Tour TNT 115 600 watt (rms) combo, which I set over a GK NEO 115 cabinet. I also use a BOSS Tu-2 Tuner, Dunlop MXR-80 DI/OD pedal(on occasion), & Monster Cables.

2003 light blue/coral Standard P
I too only use Ampeg amps, SVT with a B115 speaker cab has a wonderful sound, never quit liked the 410 cabs, not enough bottom
I play flats and go for the sixties rock/pop and motown sound
