My main gig rig is a '62 reissue (sweetest bass I've ever played) thru a Fender Pro 400 combo (2 10s) with a Fender 15" cab underneath. This rig has a lot of punch and a lot of tonal flexing.

I used to use Ampeg because I had a deal with them. I was never happy with my tone so I gave it up. For the past few years I have been using a GK 1001RB running bi-amped through a GK 115RBH and a 410RBH. The tone is much better and they are extremely reliable

I play an '06 blonde Precision and an '86 trans teal Stingray through an Ampeg SVT-6PRO, Korg rack tuner, Furman power conditioner, BBE Max x3 and rented Ampeg 8x10 cabs. Soon, I'll have my own cab, either a Warwick 6x10 or a Mesa RoadReady 8x10.

My other two basses are MIM Jazz 4 and 5 strings. I also use plenty of effects!

Have you actually got the 6-PRO now? If you have what does that beast sound like?

yep, I bought it. And it's LOUD and it's got almost too much tone with that parametric EQ. Problem is, I need a cabinet that can handle it. Right now I'm borrowing an Ampeg 6x10, but soon I hope to get either a Warwick 6x10 or a Mesa RoadReady 8x10. And then I'm gonna put the amp in a rack, fill the rack full of stuff and name it Kevin Jr.

BTW, all that rack gear I mentioned is also borrowed

At the present time I'm using a Fender Highway One P-Bass, a Acostic Fender Bass, Ampeg 200 W amp (don't remember the name), and a Squier Jazz-Bass.

But soon I also have a 5 string Music Man SUB5 bass.. ;)

I thought I replied to this post but couldn't see where. I play a black MIM P-bass ande I run it through a Bassman 150. I play in a blue rock bar band. I do have a bigger amp but it's to big for the bars. The Bassman 150 seems to fit just right. I have the pre volume up about three quarters and the main up to half or a little higher. I get a good tone out of it. The compressor is great, don't have to play so hard. I did buy some 15 in mains in the event I find a bar I have to mic but ain't found one yet. So there it is, Fender on Fender. A 39 pound am for this 51 year old blueman was a treat to find. Bass in one had, amp in the other.

MIJ '51RI, MIM P, and Squier VM P TB all through a MArkbass CMD121h with ext cab, which has the same 12" B&C driver as the combo. Total weight, 60lbs, total power 500W RMS. I can strap a bass on my back and walk into a gig fully armed, as it were...

Cool forum.

I play my '76 PBass (Black body, maple neck, SD pick-ups) through a Peavey Max700 head driving a 1x15" Black widow cab plus 2x10" TVX. Sometimes use an EQ peddle wound up for that authentic Stranglers punch :)
