Hi, new to the board, I'm looking at getting a P bass. I found one but have questions, It is a 2015 MIM that he relic'ed himself, and he changed the neck to a 2015 MIM Jazz neck. He wants $300.
Is it worth it? Are the necks interchangeable like that? I prefer the Jazz neck to the P neck, My brother has a PJ that I love, so the neck is a bonus, I just don't wnat to get ripped off.
Thanks for any info you have

Detailed pics would be immensely useful.

That said, yes -- Fender bass necks (as with their guitars) are generally interchangeable. A basic, used MIM P-bass is worth $225 to $275 contingent upon condition. Less if modded, even more so if damaged or cosmetically abused. The "relic" finish you've alluded to gives me pause because frankly, most of them look like rawfuckingass.

Sorry, first post. Meant to post pix. Not a fan of relic myself but, I can afford it. If not worth it I can save more.

There is a difference between a relic treatment and abuse. I think this one crosses the abuse line. That said, it does come with bridge and pickup covers and a finger rest/tugbar. A lot depends on how it plays and sounds compared to others.
