I know it too. It wasn't the right time for me, but I didn't want to pass this one up.

I do not like the side-mounted jack.

This bass would look a lot better with the top-mounted jack and an extra hole for the front pickup volume knob. It also lacks off a maple fingerboard option.

I guess they did that because of the extra knob where the jack would normally be?

The third knob for the Tone setting is also moved up closer to the Bridge Volume Knob. This means a regular Am. Std. Precision PG won't fit on the newer "PJ" Precision. The opening on the regular PG for the jack was closer to the bottom PG screw. And also if this a for real Limited Edition, there probably will not have any options for different colors, or different fretboards. Maple would be a nice alternative. These "PJ" Bodies may have been partially set for the now discontinued American Deluxe Precisions. They may have already had the hole cut for the jack cavity, just not cut for the volume knobs, and tone knob. Then had a new PG made for it. The battery cavity wasn't cut yet either on them. I guess.

The 10-HOLE AMERICAN DELUXE PRECISION BASS® PICKGUARDS (1998-2010), seems to be the PG that the "PJ" Precision PG was based on. Minus the American Deluxe top volume knob hole, and the hole for the American Deluxe Active/Passive selector switch.

You want to change the pickguard out?
