Fender just unveiled their new breed of Elite Strats and Teles for 2016 and I suppose a line of Elite bass guitars will follow shortly after.

I wonder how the Precision would look, though.

An American Deluxe with a spoke-wheel truss rod, 21 frets and a 4th generation noiseless Jazz Bass pickup in the bridge or a reincarnation of the good ole 22-fret monster with the big jazzbucker in the bridge?

Maybe it will look like the Elite P from the 80s, a I and a II.

Surely not.

It would be a "current" American Deluxe PJ Bass with an RSD bridge and a Noiseless 4 Jazz Bass pickup in the rear position.

I would like to see a P-bass with 2 pickup's like in the 80's but the rear one in reverse position.

Warwick did this pickup configuration on their Entwistle Buzzard basses, which are now discontinued.

Or with 2 pickup's like in the Duesenberg Triton bass:

Theh call them single twin bass humbuckers.

Smaller than a P-pickup.

I bet they're gonna bring back the old 22-fret design with a few tweaks - just a thought.

Finally I've had found a photo of the Elite Jazz Bass V.

Apparently the new basses has lots of similarities to the Dimension.

I heard a week ago, Fender was going to drop the Deluxe Series.

I like the precision! Nice color!

And active like the "old" elite.

Active and Passive - best of both worlds.

The only difference between the two is the PJ setup as opposed to a double P layout.

The neck shape is a compound profile morphing from C to D; the maple fingerboards are made up from a separate laminated piece of wood glued into the neck.

Only the 5-string Jazz Bass and the Dimensions had the compound radius. The Jazz Bass IV and the Precision retain the standard 9.5'' radius.

FYI they pulled out the basses from the products page in the international websites.
