Traded two older Jazz basses for this one and I couldn't be happier.
I've had it two weeks and have already gigged and recorded with it. It sounds fabulous!
A 2015 Precision with CS 60's pups and sounds like my old 63 Precision. :D

That's a great looking P!

Reminds me of my brother's original '66.

Thanks Arjay. I like the looks of it too, and it has that 60's vibe in looks and sound. The recorded sound is awesome! The two Jazz basses I traded are both very nice, but worth the trade for this one.

Wow! Based on my collection, 63Ps really sound good, so if this one sounds like that, and brings back those memories of your old one, what a great find. Congrats. :)

Nice looking burst finish, too.

Nice P Bass. 8) If I keep looking at all of these P Bass pics in threads, I'll wind up with some serious P Bass GAS again. :P

I was told that this bass had the CS '62 pups in it. I think that would make it the same pup as in '63, unless there was a change in '63.

The darker bursts like this one are my favorites too.

For me, GAS always seems to be lurking under the surface and never really goes away.
Like Gilda Radner's SNL character used to say, "If it isn't one thing, it's another thing. It's always something".

Hey, you just have to keep a strong grip on you emotions, take a deep breath, exhale slowly, and remind yourself you can only play one bass at a time.

That has always worked for me.

Willpower......that behavioral characteristic that compels you to -- in light of the fact that your credit cards are maxxed out, the car needs a new transmission, the roof is leaking, the IRS is demanding an audit, your company downsized you to 28 hours a week, both kids need braces, your wife will kill you, and you don't really need another bass -- buy the sonofabitch anyway.

Affprod, I was getting ready to ask, "But don't you have a large collection yourself", when I saw your second post. Ha ha! Good stuff.

Arjay, I'll bet we've all been in that situation. "But, but....but I want it!"

I have wrestled with the fact that I can only play one bass at a time, so I trimmed the herd from 4 to 3. But if I had a big house and lots of money I would have as many as I wanted.

I played one bass for 25 years, my 63 P, and sold it because I wanted some variety and different sounds, and a newer, cleaner looking bass. I moved away from Fender for a while, looking for "my sound" and ended up back with Fender anyway. I didn't stray far after all.

Here's a pic from about 1985 with me and the 63 P. Sonic Blue with ebony "C" board.
