I'm getting my very first Fender guitar tomorrow (or the day after tomorrow) I'm very excited. I have a question about the trem springs, should they be straight or diagonal? I see some photos with people's trem springs straight and some in diagonal. I'm using 8 gauge strings by the way, which way would be better for keeping my guitar in tune? The guitar I am getting is Fender Marauder Modern Player. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Straight/diagonal makes no difference on tuning stability.

In short, I consider the string tension vs trem springs balance, overall trem setup, nut, saddles, string guides (and lubing the string/other contact points), good strings & proper truss rod support to be the key factors.
