I've been playing for 9 years now and its been my dream of owning a Fender. I've owned guitars of different brands but it has been my desire to own a Fender. Recently, I've put a Fender Marauder Modern Player on layaway. Its an amazing guitar! I've played it through a Fender Tube Amp and I was in love with it. I would like to know the specs of the guitar and everything about it. Also how does it vary from the original Marauder from the 60's? I know the pickups and switching are different but what else? Any help is much appreciated, thank you for your time! Peace!

I'd say the only thing common to the original 1960's model and the Modern Player version is the similarity in body shape and general looks. The originals are unicorns, the new ones horses, if you catch my drift.

You get some info on this Guitarchive: The Marauders article.
And the wiring diagram for the MP marauder is here

The specs for the MP:
Quote:
Series: Modern Player
Body Material: Koto
Body Finish: Gloss Polyester
Neck: Maple, "C" Shape
Neck Finish: Gloss Polyester
Fretboard: Rosewood
Fretboard Radius: 9.5" (24.1cm)
Frets: 22, Jumbo
Scale Length: 25.5" (64.8cm)
Nut Width: 1.650” (42mm)
String Nut: Synthetic Bone
Pickups: Fender Triplebucker Pickup (Bridge)
Modern Player Jazzmaster Pickup (Neck)
Controls: Master Volume, Master Tone
Hardware: Nickel/Chrome
Tuning Keys: Vintage Style Tuning Machines
Bridge: Vintage Style Synchronized Tremolo
Control Knobs: Jazz Bass Knobs
Pickguard: 4-Ply Aged White Pearloid

Beyond that, there's very little info on Marauders; some pics, ads etc. can be found - google is your friend here. And nobody has ever seen, let alone played, the original.
