I had one. Very well made, sound and play well. I didn't bond with mine so I sold it.

I tried a few models out a couple of years ago. The ungodly expensive American made ones are great. The affordable Korean made SE models felt like cheap toys to me.

I have had a Santana SE for years. The fattest and round neck pu sound I have heard, really nice.
But then I saw in my local store here a Sandberg Alterra and so I gave it in change to the Sandberg wich I own till today.

Cheers :D

Well to be honest with you it depends what you are looking for. Being an owner of a PRS I would say if you are looking for a guitar that is capable of many different colors and shapes to its sound it is a great guitar. I know this is a Fender Forum but I haven't found one problem with PRS guitars. I hope you don't find my reply bias seeing as my favorite guitar is my customized 72 Fender Bronco. I have been a Fender player for 10 years. Does that help?

Some of the Korean-made SEs have gotten good reviews.

My biggest complaint about PRS is the price.

Went to a PRS clinic featuring Larry Mitchell, a very talented player. He produced a wide variety of sounds from several models, showcasing the SE imports. All seemed to be very capable guitars, some with tapped-coil humbuckers, some with P90 type single coils, etc. Their American product is pretty expensive though.

PRS guitars are good quality guitars, although they are ungodly expensive (as mentioned before! Multiple times....). They have a great feel to them, fast action, and can coax multiple tones. Hard guitars to bond with. They lack character, which is one of the most important aspects of a guitar. I have a '65 Reissue Strat, which has had some major damage that effected the sound, but still has all the personality in the world, because it has it's on authentic sonic qualities. I absolutely hated the guitar when I first bought it, because I was a person who valued the frills and flashy looks of Gibson and PRS guitars (which Fender steers clear of, most of the time). I tried to put it on ebay and sell it, but every time I went to, I made an excuse. pretty soon, I found the guitar impossible to part with. It's my baby! Oh, by the way, her name's Debbie.
Cheers.

PRS are nice guitars but if I paid that much for a guitar I would be cautious about playing it. Besides I like to mod and tinker with everything from cars to guitars. A $3500 PRS just doesn't appeal to my DIY sensebilities. I wouldn't mind having a Santana III though! :D
