Has anyone tried the 60's Jazzmaster Laquer model? How does it compare to the American Vintage?

I bought one -- great guitar. The quality is right up there with my 59 Strat and 52 Tele. If you don't like the Surf Green, there's a great road worn version offered as well.

Love to try one. They say the 65 pickups in them are quite good. Sometime next year I would like to buy another Jazzmaster. I am pretty pleased with my Classic Player

I have the lacquer Jaguar. Love everything about it except for the new trem design. It makes a terrible squeak. Anybody have a suggestion to fix that? I might just upgrade to an AVRI trem.

Fix for squeaking: lube the trem at every contact point.

Agreed. I removed the trem plate... and put that gooey nut lubricant every place metal contacted metal -- including the spring. Even put a tiny bit of lube where the strings touched the saddles. Much better now.
