Can anyone tell me anything about this model?

I have never heard of it and I saw this for sale in a local online ad.

I know a little about them, if I'm correct they were the first of the 3/4 scale guitars, no tremolos, single pickups. They were designed as an "economy" model, lower price, smaller size, popular marketing was they worked great for people with small hands, kids, ladies.

I know that I have a bass and in the interest of economy they were made and sold with Standard Strat six-pole, single coil pickups in the bass models. Mine still has the original strat pickup in it, still works better than I'd expected, with a little eq'ing of course.

I bought a 1966 Musicmaster back in the mid 80's. What Kiss fan said pretty much covers it. The guitar is a cheaper version of the Mustang. One neck pickup, which means it doesn't scream 3 saddles on the fixed bridge and they are pretty "economically" constructed. Basically a screw threaded into a threaded rod at a right angle for each saddle, 2 strings per saddle. Is hgt and intonation adjustable.

Seems like there were 2 or 3 color choices, a metallic red, a white, and some other solid color. Mine was originally red, but when I bought it had been stripped to natural and polyurethaned. I found the red inside the body cavity.

Have thought about selling it, restoring it, modding it to Mustang-spec or at least a new PG with a bridge pup. And usually play it a bit and decide to just leave it as is.

I am amazed at how folks marvel at it. It's an old guitar and plays great. But nothing fancy. But folks still want to hold it and play it whenever we take it out somewhere.

They bring about $400+ on evil-bay.

They are quite a conversation piece. Every time we have a gig or I jam with someone new there's questions about my bass, where did I find it, etc.

At least I have a good story for where mine came from. Just wish I could have kept it all original but some things were just too rusty and corroded to keep.

Not much history on mine that I am aware of. When I bought it, the guy at the music store had no story witih it. But it has been mine for a while. I often think of restoring it, but then decide to keep it as is. Eventually will need some parts, but they appear to be readily available, as long as fender keeps reissuing guitars from the same basic family.

I saw a beat up one of those at a music shop in Arkansas once. Played decent, but then again, its a bass, and I don't know much about basses, heh.
