I've got a Pawn Shop Super-Sonic and just discovered that it won't fit in a multi-fit Strat/Tele case (Guitar is just-a-little-too-long.) Since its an odd duck I'm sure we don't have a dedicated case. If I wanted to stick with a Fender case, what fits?

Since nobody came up with a case model, here's a general hint: a case that fits a Jazzmaster should also fit the SuperSonic.

Thanks very much. Someone at a repair shop also said that it fits best in the old style case that is mostly open with the two braces for the neck as opposed to the newer style. I'm on my way to go find one!

I can personally verify that the Super Sonic DOES fit into a Strat case but you have to modify the case. I have the Cobain Mustang, and had to modify the Strat case I bought for it to make it fit. My SuperSonic fits in the same amount of space as the Mustang.

DO try this at home:

Take an exacto knife and cut the crushed velvet away from the edges of the case, where the butt end of the guitar rests. Remove the foam inserts and slice them in half vertically, lengthwise. You will have 2 pieces of foam, slice them in half and now you have 4.

Replace two of the foam pieces back where you pulled them out. Now the case has more room to accommodate a LONGER guitar.

NEXT, cut the crushed velvet away from the front side of the case and pull it back and you will see the foam inserts. Take 2 of the slices of foam that you cut in half from the butt padding, and now insert them into the front and double up the padding on the front.

Now superglue the crushed velvet back onto the edges of the case and hammer the staples back in and let it sit for a day.

The Mustang and the SuperSonic are longer than the Strat, but have a thinner butt.
By halving padding on the aft end of the case, and doubling it on the front side of the case, you have made a case that will accommodate these offset guitars.

So in summation, Strats are shorter but have bigger butts than a Mustang or a SuperSonic. Ironic since the latter two have a shorter scale length.
