:D Hi just wondered if anyone could give me a few more details about my guitar

it's a Korean made Fender Squier Stratocaster serial number S924243, I've had it now for almost 34 years everything on it is stamped fender , but on the headstock it has a small Squier logo in gold and black Fender stratocaster lettering with the above serial number below the Squier logo.

should pictures be required I could post them.

I just wondered when it was made, what factory, and the approximate value of this cracking guitar, which plays beautifully crisp and clear, with an action to die for.

please help in any which way you can, this is just my curiosity picking at me, as I would never part with it willingly

thank you all in advance

cheers
Rob

Hi Rob,
Hard to say without seeing it, but if you truly have had it 34 years and it is a real Fender or Squier then it is likely NOT made in Korea. I say this as someone who has been here just about that amount of years. Korean imports as i recall were not around until around 87-88. The first Japanese imports around 82.
You may want to look around this: http://www.fender.com/support/articles/?section=articles&category=product-dating There are some U.S. made S9 serial numbers.
CBS Fender brought the V.C. Squier string Manufacturing operation into the Fullerton building around late 81-early 82 and began producing Squier brand guitars shortly thereafter as I recall.

Anyway....good luck, hope that helped a bit.
All the best,
rob

You can't post pics straight from your PC, you have to upload them first to a webhost.
