Hello, I just bought a set of EMGS and wanted to rewire this guitar, the pups that were in it were passive so I have to change everything Can someone please look this over and tell me if everything is ok? I have a p/p for each tone and a master vol. and a 3-way selector. My biggest concern it the caps. I want a different uF. cap for each tone pot, but I'm affraid with this wiring, the lower uF value caps circuit will go thru the higher uF value cap when the selector is in the middle and cancel it out. is this a valid concern? is there a way around this? Please help, I'd liek to wire this up tonight, I finally got everything i need, Thanks everyone!Image PS. Omit the hot wire from the first P/P pot to the 3 way selector switch i fergot to erase it

I would assume when in position 2 that the circuits are going to be in parallel. If so with caps unlike resistors you add rather then divide values when in parallel. So yes they will combine values since you are combining them in parallel. It won't hurt anything but as far as what it does when you cut the tones on either or both pups you will have to wait to hear if it is an issue.

It probably will not be since even though the circuits are combined in parallel the caps them selves are in series with the specific pots. Hope you did not find that too confusing. In other words... don't worry about it too much.
