Well the Cobain Mustang finally arrived. It was an early 10th birthday present for my daughter who absolutely loves it. I have been fiddling with the phase switches and was surprised that there is little documentation anywhere on how they work. I found one forum (not this one) where a user mentioned that the Cobain Mustangs were wired differently. Does anyone know that to be the case? I've searched the support section of Fender and checked various other sites including ones with reviews hoping to catch a glimpse of switch combinations.

I did find this post on here but it seems to be different than what I've found with our guitar...

Definitely the middle switches are off and the switching the bridge pickup away from the middle while keeping the neck pickup in the middle is humbucker only. Keeping the bridge pickup in the middle while switching the neck pickup from the middle is clearly single coil. The other combos are confusing as switching both pickups towards the bridge sound different from having both switched towards the neck. The opposites also sound different. I did love the handy diagram which came with my Marrguar which helped explain it all. I've found a few other posts on this forum that are over my head and others which seem to apply on to the single coil non Cobain mustangs. Sorry if this is redundant. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. All try to post some pictures including a family portrait tomorrow. Many thanks.

The bridge switch on my Cobain 'stang does the same thing in either 'on' position. Neck switch pushed towards the neck puts the neck PU in phase with the humbucker (if it's on) and pushed towards the bridge puts it out of phase. Obviously, if the humbucker is off, the neck switch 'on' positions make no difference.
