I have a Jaguar but I want more of a regular sounding guitar sound. Something similar to the Strat. What switches should I use?

That's like asking how to make a pickup truck drive more like a sports car. :?

Go to music store. Hand over Jaguar. Buy Strat.

Sounds as though you would be pleased with the Pawn Shop Series Jaguarillo. Reasonably priced MIM that is a blast to play. Jag body and short scale neck with HSS Strat electronics. They're getting kind of hard to find though...Image

Yes.
Buy Jaguarillo. Get a guitar tech to fit a standard bridge pup and new scratch plate and there you go. Jaguarillos have been discontinued, so if you're going to do it your have to be quick. Let us know how it goes

Are you sure? They are still on the Guitars page of the Fender website. http://www.fender.com/guitars/jaguar/pawn-shop-jaguarillo-rosewood-fingerboard-3-color-sunburst/

There are a lot of guitars on the product page that are discontinued. Fender isn't very good at keeping the product page up to date. :(

I see you are both right, I just saw Rob Schwarz's response to this other thread. http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=94798

This thread got me interested in them. The used ones I've been watching on ebay since this thread started have sold in the $350 - $450 range, which makes them affordable.

Well I started interest to get one about a year ago. At the time they were around £750.00.
I couldn't afford that so I thought I'd wait a while to save some dosh. Made some enquiries about a month ago to find they had been reduced to around £475.00. But couldn't find a shop, via the internet, that had one in stock.
Phoned a couple of places and they told me Fender UK had only two left because they had been discontinued. But to my luck one of the shops had a slightly damaged one for £425.00. Went and had a look and it had a slight dent on the edge of the body. You can't even see it looking at the guitar front on. So I bought it.
Interestingly, I bought a modern player a while back that I knew was being discontinued.
The price of it had also been reduced quite considerably. So I'm guessing that if new guitars drop in price at the shop then maybe they are going to be discontinued and that the shops want to get rid quick to make more space for new models.
Steady as you go ----- Phil

It seems like Fender keeps discontinued model on the website until they have sold all of the ones in their warehouse to the various dealers. Once all the ones in the warehouse are gone, then the model comes off the site.

It`s a sin to make a real jag sound like a strat - pretty like asking "how to make a T-bone-steak taste like a cheap hamburger". Strats are nice guitars, but the only real thing is the jag, believe me ;-)
