I have the opportunity to replace the neck on my 65 Re-issue Mustang with the neck of a new American Special Mustang. Does anyone know if it will fit without any mods?

I know Fender has gotten pretty good about standardizing pocket sizes, but wasn't sure here. I'd love to have a more accessible truss rod, which is why I'm opting to possibly change the neck out.

Thanks!

They're both 24-inch scale length so you shouldn't have any issues with a swap.

Be prepared to make some minor tweaks to the body's neck pocket. Periodically, there'll be interface issues between a MIJ/CIJ body and a MIA or MIM neck (at least in the case of some Stratocaster's that I've assembled from parts).
