!!PETTY WHINER ALERT!!

Hello! I have a Fender Stratocaster and... ya know, I love it... And i love Kurt Cobain.. but... Basically I have a question for you guys! :::

IS it weird that I have the desire to purchase a Kurt Cobain Mustang? And also, is a Mustang less superior to a Strat? From my personal conceived knowledge: yes, but I kind of want to know the "real" answer according to the internet.

I realize that guitar preferences are all about the person themselves, but I'm just wondering if anyone else is like this...

Just picked up one of these beauties last month. Got the LPB Competition. I got the last one in Canada (well for that chain anyways no other store had any). For some reason they are being discontinued (I have no idea if it is in the U.S. of A). What can I say? I'm a Cobain fan but I just fell in love with the Mustang. It also helped that Steve Turner from Mudhoney played one for most of their seminal work so I was hooked. The stripes send me in a tizzy. I have no explanation why. It plays amazing, the neck is awesome. The sucker just roars with the JB humbucker. I play mostly rhythm so the short scale is perfect. Yeah lots of complaints about the tremolo and it does go out of tune quick.

Man, I'm so tired of seeing strats everywhere (I know they're ubiquitous because they're good but geez does everyone need to have one?) so do yourself a favour and get that Mustang and don't look back (the Sonic Blue looks real cool). Who cares about superior or inferior. People will be biased either way and a lot will slag any signature model especially from an iconic rock star who killed himself. Blah blah. It's a solid, well-made guitar which looks cool (hey, it's important), plays well, and sounds good. What more do you want. If it kinda sucks you will not have a problem re-selling it.

Superiority is not important.

What is important is the guitar feels good and makes the noise you want it to.

For the record the sonic blue one looks quality. I've been tempted on one of these for a long time.

The feel is awesome. It's a short scale so you can barre chord well. The frets are tight at the bottom of the neck so shredding is a little tough. The body is contoured so it fits nicely with your gut. Also it's light maybe around 7lbs so that adds to the comfort level. As for it being discontinued I'm not positive, I was only talking about the Competition model and that was only in Canada. So check around or maybe someone here knows. Anyways good luck and yeah get a job get some coin and get this guitar.
