Hi there! I'm new to the guitar world, and was considering purchasing a Fender F-210 online. However, I question it's legitimacy.

The link to the product is:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Fender-F-210-Acoustic-Guitar-Hard-Case-/151209681722?pt=Guitar&hash=item2334cca33a

And the seller told me that the serial number is s00000009. According to pictures, it appears Korean made; however, the guitar scratch pad has the Fender logo all over it, which I have never seen before. Also, when I look online for the Korean made F-210's, none seem to suggest that the serial should have a "s" prefix.

Any help would me greatly appreciated! Is it real?

At the "buy it now" price of 175$ and the seller's 99.9% reputation I'd say you can trust it to be a legit Fender.

Note that the guitar is (nor has never been) one of the top models - it's a workhorse, nothing more, nothing less.
And "vintage" - well, not in the same sense as e.g. a Strat from 1958 would be...

Fender on the scratchplate is probably a sticky protective film you can peel off.

That guitar is most assuredly is a Fender made F210. I happen to own one and have had it for over 30 years. The Fender words on the pickguard is a film that peels off. Mine has a very nice tone after 30 years. Yeah it is no Martin, but then it didn't cost like one either.

I will say, the case may have purchased with the guitar, but it is NOT the original Fender case that came with it. In fact the Fender case that came with mine was very good quality, nice blue thickly padded lining and metal edging around the outside for both the top and bottom of case with a nice Fender Logo painted on. The only thing that is not of the best quality is the tuners, replace em and you have a guitar that will serve you well for many years.

The serial number is extremely low, maybe one of the first batches made. The BIN price is in line with what I paid...30 odd years ago. If you have more specific questions about it shoot em too me.
