Hi, I guess I'm on the right forum for my quest. A few months ago I saw a green Jaguar with the Jaguar's head car logo near the Fender name on the matching green headstock of the guitar. Now it seems I can't remember where I saw it. I bought my first Fender Strat last year as a 50th anniversary gift I did to myself. This year I'm planning for a Tele, and maybe next year a jaguar or an artist serie. I'm looking for future possible acquisitions and this Jaguar might be on the list. So,this is not some kind of a hurry search, but if you could tell me something about this guitar it would speed up my research as I already been through a lot of sites myself with no results. Thanks in advance for any infos. Claude.

P.S.
As this is my first post on the Fender forums, I thought I should make the following statement and I won't bother you with this anymore in the future.
I've been reading the forums for about a year now and I noticed that sometimes, some posts will generate answers that do not match the general idea of the meaning of the post. Meaning not friendly posts nor at least not neutral informative posts. I also noticed that most of the time, answers or replies come in a civilized and respecting form and seems to be helpfull contributions from other members. So as english is not my first language, I apologize in advance for any mistake from me that would result for you in an inapropriate use of your time to answer one of my posts. So that beeing said, I must say that I am very proud to be a part of the Fender family. See you. (A bientôt). Claude.

Hey Claude,

Could you elaborate on what you meant by Car Head logo? Do you mean the Jaguar car company logo on a Fender Jaguar Headstock?

And by the way, your english is very good for a second language.

Hi Bahu, sorry I'm not equipped to post pictures but we can work it out like this. It was a flat round one inch accross dark Jaguar head with the mouth opened, near the round part of the headstock. Maybe the owner got it modified and there is only one green Jaguar like this beauty, but I'm surely not the only one who saw it. Anyway I'm still looking out for it and if I find it by myself I'll post back just to share the sight of this beauty. Thank you. Claude.

I can honestly say, as a big Jaguar (guitar, not car) fan, that I have NEVER seen a Jaguar w/ an actual picture of a jaguar on the headstock. Sounds to me like it was a modification made by the guitar's previous owner. I would say to try to have a decal custom made by a local printing company that you could put on the headstock of your Jaguar when you end up getting one.

Hi - 'Scuse me reviving this thread I just came across, but I suspect you are thinking of the Fender Jaguar Stratocaster. Fender CS made 25 of these, finished with various details drawn from Jaguar cars: for instance the pickguard and fingerboard are made from the same burr walnut Jags use on their dashboards. Not to mention the Jaguar inlays on the neck.

Most of these went to Jaguar execs in the UK. Supposedly between five and eight came onto the general market. Followers of the Stratocaster Forum on this site know that one of them belongs to forum member alainlafrance - see early pages in the "Pics of Your Strat" thread on that Forum.

Here is the only one I know of that is for sale:

http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/Guitars/El ... p5744.aspx

That Stirling price works out around US $30,000. That'd be a nice birthday present for the OP to himself...

So happens, my wife and I drive a Jaguar in that exact British Racing Green finish. I have tried persuading her that we need the matching Strat for the back seat, but she ain't taking the bait.

Hi Ceri, as much as I enjoyed very much looking at that superb guitar, (I saved the link this time), I am sad to say that it is not the one I saw. It was a bit of a lighter green, Fender Jaguar model, not a Strat. Maybe as Kid w/a Jag-stang said it is a previous owner modification that I saw. Anyway, still looking. Thanks for taking your time to share informations. Claude.
