Hello,
I saw a Japanesse Fender Jazzmaster for sale, the serial number is B+6 digits, this should be 1985/86 guitar, but it's ''Crafted in Japan'', is this possible???
I thought before 1997, all japanese Fendres were ''Made in Japan''
Thank you!!

If it's "crafted," then it's late '90s.

A lot of the japan serial dating sites don't mention it but some do... CIJ + B serials are 98-99. A lot of times you'll hear about a "1985 Japan Jazzmaster" because of this but I'm pretty sure there is no such thing.
