I saw your Photoshop in the craiglist link you posted, and that is the one that i was talking about .."navy blue" one.
I own 4 toronados, and i hace the same guitar as yours, same color, if you look at the body trough the sun light you will find little blue points on the paint.

Some one in ebay has on sale same model and color, and he said is definitly black, so..... I am starting to belive that this model was made in black too ....

As i know that second model versión (made in México)came in:
Navy blue metallic
Caramel metallic
Candy red metallic
Gray metallic
And ....posibbly "Black"

Thanks for share

(I Also dont know how to post pictures) i would like to show you my toronados.

Best Regards !

Can definitely see the blue in yours but yes, mine is definitely black.
Was just wondering what the value of these were. Nice pics, by the way.

To tell you the true, those arent my photos, o just copies the link a an example to show you the color of my guitar.

Well, i bought that guitar new at "Guitar trader" shop in San Francisco in 2007, i órdered By internet ( i am from Guadalajara, México) and a sí remember the real cost was like 450 usd (new brand).

Now you can find them more valuated in ebay o reverb (450-650 usd Range) .

This particular model has more sustain that the fist versión due the gibson bridge style, though, very cool guitar.

If they came with the switch on the bottom, I would possibly consider getting one. Really like the looks of them....but that darn switch is right where I play.

I've tried Les Paul's, and Epiphones with the switch in that position...and I couldn't stop hitting it.

I actually own 7 Toronados, 5 MIM's and 2 MIA's

Yes I like them!!! I have changed the pups on 5 of them. Also have them P/P switched to coil split. 3 of the MIM's are first generation Toros, (large pickguard) which are my favorites, I also swapped the saddles with Full Contact Hardware saddles on these. One of the MIM's with the Tun-a-matic type tailpiece now has a Bigsby.

Basically a different flavor for each Toro. :D
The MIA's are left stock...P90 Butterscotch and the Crimson w/Atomics

Maybe it's time to admit I have too many guitars when I didn't remember I have 8 Toros!
I added a Candy Apple Red one a few months ago and just got back from my guitar tech.

Since my wife doesn't read this I can freely admit I have over 30 Fenders. Mostly MIA Strats but I prefer my Toros. I think more embarrassing is I have 11 tube amps and 3 S/S amps.

BTW
I bought my first Toronado new in 98 when they first came out...a black one. I paid $499 which is what they were going for all over. I got mine from Musician's Friend. I think I still have the receipt somewhere. The rest I bought used. Some I got pretty cheap and some I over paid....but as I said, they are my favorite.

Actually when you add up the costs of all the aforementioned mods I had done by a pro tech and the reality is I over paid for all of them!!!

Hi Jalentz9

If your toronado is in black color for sure should be the fist toronado version with the big pickguard in tortoise color. (1998-2002)

Later versions never came in black. The second version has a color called "metallic navy blue " that is a very dark blue, most people think is black, but NO, is navy blue. (2004-2006 aprox)

Regards!

Later versions DID come in Black. I have a Black 2006 Deluxe Series model for sale right now. 100% completely stock and barely used. 44 photos for your inspection.

Where do you hide them?!

Great thing about being single again is that I can buy what I want when I want. Well, as long as the checking account approves anyway. Bad thing is that I spend all my playing time alone since gotta take care of the kids and is harder to get out.
