I'm thinking the Triplebucker is actually the guitar's weak link(aside from maybe the strat trem) - everything else about this guitar is so awesome. The triple bucker has a nice punchy sound in humbucking mode but it's a bit too rounded off and often tends to sound fizzy. The Triplebucker position makes for a better humbucker sound mostly but of course doesn't cancel the noise as much. Even the regular single coil position in the brdige, while kinda pretty sounding still seems kinda dull.

So I was thinking of putting something else there. Ideally I'd like something that's Tele-like when split. Or maybe I could just rewire it or try 1Meg pots? Any ideas?

Not knowing how it is wired, it's hard to say how you might rewire it.

As far as replacing that pickup, is it the same size as a standard humbucker?

How many wires are coming off that pickup?
