Post subject: Classic Player Jaguar serial number problem

Hii! i just get a Classic Player Jaguar and i have a problem with the serial number. It is MX12098057 and i wanted to look for the date that it was made but it looks like "MX12" doesn't exists or something! Can somebody help me and tell me when my guitar was made ? i hope it isn't fender fake one.... Thanks!! :oops:

According to the logic on
http://www.fender.com/en-FI/support/art ... ct-dating/
the prefix MX12 would date your Jag to 2012 and place it to be made in Mexico.
As always, the serial# does not give a specific birthday to the instrument.

Hi Samy,
The serial number can tell you approximately when the guitar was completed, there will be some variance. Also, the online guide is not up to date ( i don't believe so anyway)
If your guitar is Candy Appple Red and you purchased it in South America, there is a very good chance that it is "real". That Jaguar tracks to 5/1/2012 completion date.

Thanks Rob! it helped a lot and yes, mi guitar is a Candy Apple Red and i purchased it in Argentina! the entire number is MX12098057.
I don't think it is a fake one
