I can not find any info on this guitar or any images that look like it.
It has an aggressive looking headstock, comes to a point, 6 in line tuners, made of poplar I believe, very heavy.
the neck bolt pattern is offset and not the 4 corner screws you often see on starts and squires.
It came with a floyd rose tremelo which I have since locked down and removed the locking nuts.

The guitar is great I bought it new and still use it today.
I want to put a value on it although I will not sell it.

I ordered it from fender directly through a local guitar shop in the spring of 1989
I have never seen another one like it.

The body has 2 pots, one 5 way switch, two single coil and one double pick up.
I replaced the stock pick ups with emg 85/81's and added schaller tuners plus a drop d hip shot.
Again, I have never in 24 years seen another one like it.

The plug goes into the bottom not the face of the guitar, it has a maple neck with a rosewood fret board.
It has the E designation with the serial number which I think is from the late 80;s and was not properly cataloged at the time making identifying it difficult.

Any info or pics from others would be greatly appreciated.
Someone else must have one of these.
I can post a pic once I find my phone and figure out how to post a pic here.

Thanks for any help identifying this particular guitar.

Hi and welcome!

Posting a picture on the forum is very easy to do.

1. Create an account within a free imagehost (Flickr, ImageShack, PhotoBucket) and upload your pics there.

2. Once you've uploaded the images copy and paste the IMG code containing the URL in which the image file is located. Note: this function is actually available on PhotoBucket.

Squier HM2 - Korean plywood version of the Fender HM2. Fairly common.
Going price from around $75-250, depending on condition.
