Found a great deal on a 2007 Jaguar HH Special Edition, made in Japan:

Fender Jaguar HH Electric Guitar | Musician's Friend

These sell in stores locally for $800-850, found a guy who will sell me his is near-mint condition for $400. I play various styles from hard rock to indie rock to blues to alternative rock and plan on using it for an upcoming recording project. My main amp that it will be played through is a Fender Exscelsior Pro.

Wondering what you guys think about this guitar? I know it's not a traditional Jag with the humbuckers and no tremolo bridge, but it still gets awesome reviews.

Reasons I like it:

-really versatile, tons of tone options, lead and rhythm channels
-shorter scale and narrow neck (I have smaller hands)
-have always loved the Jaguar shape, and black and chrome is gorgeous!
-humbuckers. All the rest of my current electric guitars are single-coils (Tele and Danelectro), so this guitar would add some versatility to my rig.
-think it would make a great rhythm guitar

Thoughts?

You've bought a very good guitar at a cheep price. The Japanese do make very good guitars.

I got my MIJ HH Jaguar 2012 MIJ and love it. It stays in tune better than my AVRI and has a nice Hot Rod sound that's fun to play. I did put a tremolo on mine and it still stays in tune better than my AVRI Jag.

The only guitar I like better is my new 2012 AVRI 62' Jaguar because it is the copy of the first model and it has a different tone that I like better at this time.

Your MIJ HH Jag should be a great axe with few mantance problems and a great sound.
Enjoy it.
