Hi everyone.

Thanks for all the info on this forum: it's huge and very helpful.

After playing my beloved '99 strats for so many years I decided I wanted to try something new. I bought a (second hand) epi les paul but I'm not really satisfied with the neck (it feels too "big").
So I wanted to try a 7.25 radius. And I really like the look of the jaguar (even if I'm a bit scared about the feeling of the short scale).
I came across this:
http://www.waltons.ie/Product/View.aspx?id=11205

I never saw a 62 reissue: only 66. Are they good? Anyone knows the neck shape and radius?
And what does RW stands for?

I'm a bit confused...
Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else but I could not find any info about this guitar anywhere.

Thanks to everyone who will/will be able to answer :)

The Fuji-Gen instruments are extremely well-made guitars, rivaling those built in Ensenada and even Corona. The re-issue neck profiles are typically a shallow "C", much like the vintage versions. Unless specified otherwise, they all have vintage-size frets and a 7.25" radius. "RW" is an abbreviation for rosewood. If the short-scale Jag gives you pause, you might also consider the Jazzmaster which shares its scale length with a Strat.

Hi Ariay, thanks a lot for the quick reply.

I'm planning on modding it (pickups, bridge...) so what I'm really after is good wood and feel.
In this case is it better this one or a CIJ? This one has the T+6 digit serial () so it could be 1994-95 or 2007-10... In what period was this model produced?

500€ is a reasonable price? (for both MIJ and CIJ)

Thanks and sorry for all the questions :)

Oh yeah I also considered the jazzmaster but.. I know it's stupid, but I really don't like the look of those humb size pickups
I think it would, eventually, be simpler in the future to change the jaguar neck to a full scale one than inserting single coil size pups in a jazzmaster (if I like the feeling of the guitar I'm not planning on selling it)

That will not happen -- the location of the bridge, and to a lesser extent the tremolo, will not jive with the required proportions to allow the guitar to intonate correctly with a full-scale neck.

If your intention is to extensively mod the guitar you should take a look at some custom bodies from USACG or Warmoth. They'll build anything to a customer's specifications.

Ok thanks for all the info.

Right now a complete custom would be too expensive (T_T) so for the moment a second hand is what I'm looking for.

Sorry, I quote myself:

Ok I bought the jaguar. It's great! Needs a bit of work on it (the bridge seems already a mustang one so that's good, but the jack input is loose (the jack doesn't "click") and the pickups are, well, japanese :D ) but the feeling is great!

Thanks for the infos!

Hi Ciack
Now that you've got your Jaguar check out the OffsetGuitar.com. There are a load of Fender owners at short scale guitars and a wealth of tech support. I get a lot of help from this site and OffsetGuitars.
