This is the first I'd seen or heard of this... I must say, I'm a fan though I'll be curious to see what other colors it comes in. I'd like to see a natural ash version. If I had to guess, I bet we'll see Oly white or red, if it ends up being introduced in any other colors at all. The Am. Special models suffer from a sad luck of creative color choices (with the exception of the surf green strat). Time will tell...

There's no official announcement for this new addition yet. The guitar is even not listed in the products page :x

Looks really cool with its DH-1 zebra humbuckers and Adjustomatic bridge! :P

Single-coil tones can be achieved via a special push-pull pot on the master volume knob.

The push-pull feature is much simpler and more practical than the S1, Fender should adopt it on their American Deluxe series to keep things easier, IMHO - since a lot of customers are not satisfied with the S1 switch.

There's also an American Special Jazzmaster in the works... there's a picture one the Shortscale forum. It also features the TOM bridge but has regular Jazzmaster pickups. http://www.shortscale.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=53839
