I don't recall seeing a CIJ with blocks, but I'll look harder.

Look up the model number JM66B-106 in a Google search.

I have a CIJ Q-Series Jazzer, but the bridge is just as buzzy as the American model.

In my experience, this actually depends on the strings. My CIJ JM likes Ernie Balls 10-46 or heavier. They intonate properly and that kills the buzz (the saddles are back far enough that the springs keep the screws stable; that's what buzzes). I have some D'adarrio 10-46's on there right now and for some reason they require the saddles to be pushed up to intonate properly and that causes buzz. (My bridge is straight; I always check.)

There are lots of techniques to fix the buzz permanently, but it's never been a problem for me with the right strings. Putting a tune-o-matic on like the MIM's is probably the least desirable solution I could think of.

Yep, you can find the JM66B on the Fender Japan site. Not sure why I never thought to look there.

Thanks!

The Jag and Jazz Players models I played at Sam Ash the other day, exhibited none of the age-old bridge-buzz that have plagued those models for years. The bridge-location tweak, coupled with the Adjusto-Matic bridge
seem to have cured that. And, with the bigger fretwire, those guitars play more like Teles or Strats - which is what I suppose Fender was trying to do. Great job, Fender. I'm sure these new models will be big successes for many years to come.

I'm heading out to the local GC tomorrow to check them out. I hope they have a few in stock. I wonder why it took Fender 50 yrs to fix it.

I hate the new jazzmasters. They weigh as much as a les paul and they just don't sound good to me. I personally like the strats much better.
