Hi !

Just read that on another forum, AVRI '62 Jaguar made around 2000 are very good guitars and newer ones sound weaker !
An owner of a 2000 AVRI told me that every recent AVRI '62 he tried wasn't as good as his.

Myth or reality ?

I'd like to know as I'm about to buy a recent one...

Thank you very much :D

Discontinued and replaced by the AVS '65.

You can find an early-2000 AVRI '62 in excellent condition on eBay, though.

Not all '62 Jags made after 2008 were affected by this pickup issue.

Hi !

Thanks for your answer ! I know it's discontinued, it's a second hand I found. (Not on Ebay though)

No, not all, I know... Do we know if it's like 1 out of 10 ? less ? more ?

And it's ONLY a pickup issue ? If I decide to change them it would sounds like a "good one" ??

Weakier output usually comes as a result of a dead or defective pickup.

Bad ground wiring, poor cavity shielding and improper soldering are also important factors for a guitar to sound weak and dull.

+1

And this occasional phenomenon is not limited to only the Jaguar models.

+1 on what Arjay said.

You just have to try it out and see how it sounds to you. And there are some great aftermarket pups out there.
