Hi guys,

(I hope this is the right topic for this problem)

A couple years ago I bought a Fender Jazzmaster (cij/mij I don't recall which). I wondered why the tremolo bar sat against the string. I later asked at the store if this was normal for the cij/mij versions and I was told it was. But it still bugs me that it's not properly positioned between the E and B string.

Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Hi Jon

It will be more helpful to see a picture or 2 of the entire bridge and tremolo together so we can see how the strings are placed in the bridge slots with respects to the trem. The trem unit is not fixed, it actualy floats around a pivot and the front tension screw. Try loosening the strings and shifting the trem tailpiece, where the ball end off the string sits, up towards the LOW E side of the guitar. this will shift the string off the trem arm post.
