Has anyone tried or bought one of these Jazzmasters? It's a brand new model, I don't think that it's made it to the Fender website yet. It seems to have 'upgrades' similar to the J. Mascis Jazzmaster but the body is alder and not basswood. I'm jonesin' for a Jazzmaster, but don't want to plunk down the extra cash for a U.S. reissue that is a little too accurate to the original design (bridge design, particularly). You can Google it for specs. Thanks!

P.S. I'm just including this link for reference, not endorsing MF:

I'm waiting for one to arrive at the local GC so I can give it a try. I have a Q-Series Jazzer in Lake Placid Blue that I absolutely love except for the historically accurate (read: buzzy) bridge. I'm hoping this version solves the problem.

But what's up with the color selection for this and some of the other new Fender models? I think this comes only in sunburst and white . . . or was it black? Even the new Jag comes in just two finishes, but one of them is Candy Apple Red.

I tried both the new MIM JM and Jag HH players.
I have a problem with them and I want Fender to know about it and address it pronto.

The JM is a beautiful sounding and playing guitar with one big flaw - it has a tremendous and annoying hum. I am not the only one who has noticed this. I believe it is either due to poor shielding or poor quality control and Fender should address this immediately. If they want people to shell out 800 bucks for these guitars, a small, easily factory fix would clinch the deal. I have seen people say they love the guitar but get immediately turned off with the hum. This is not a normal hum either. I own a vintage JM and Jag and it is nothing like this.

Secondly I have tried the Jag HH player. I understand the guitar is not wired as a standard Jag, and I have read the specs on it, but Fender needs to release a CLEAR diagram showing which switch is a kill switch and how the single - humbucker options work.
If people dont understand something they wil go with something they do, so it is critical that Fender tell us precisely how this thing works. When I first tried this one out, I thought the lead circuit didnt work and only the rythm circuit did. By the way it sounded wonderful. But I thought it was defective.
Fender needs to clearly point out just what switch does what.

I am hoping that posting this will get the attention of Fender management and they address it right away, because I want this line to be successful.
It offers many people a way to get into the world of offsets and the beautiful tones they offer.

Thanks.

Ed
