8) Does anyone know if the fender custom shop makes guitars specially for a nobody? I was just wondering if someone not famous could walk in and ask fender to say, blend a jaguar and a tele' for them

From what I understand--if you have the money--you can be a customer--you may have a wait though.

I've heard the same thing. But if you want to spend that kind of dough, it helps to make sure that your guitar is going to be REALLY unique, and not a variation of a existing model. Jag + Tele sounds intriguing!

If you want a Custom Shop guitar you can order one. You have to go to a dealer authorized to sell for the CS, like Guitar Center. Then you fill out the form, put down your deposit and someone from the Fender CS shop will call you make sure you're both on the same page about what you want. You get an estimate and give them the go-ahead. Last time I asked, the wait was about 9 months, but that was over a year ago.

Good luck.

If you want a custom job, then a lot of guys at guitarcenter do work on their own. They could probably do the work for you a lot faster and a lot cheaper.

Yeah the guys at the Guitar Center here in Mempho couldn't change the toilet paper in the dispenser. They all play pretty good but when it comes to the "nuts & bolts" of buiding a guitar....I have to hand it to me.
A Custom Shop guitar would be worth the money to me IF I ever hit the Powerball jackpot (yeah laugh now...somebody's GOT to win it!).

Probably cheaper and faster to make one yourself, but not everyone is skillful enough.
If it so suits you though, I'sd say CS is the best bet if you have money.
