I have a jaguar blacktop with the 3 ways toggle switch and I want it to go up-down instead of left-right. Can i some how rotate it without cutting of the wood inside?

After looking at the cutout route and it being longer on the up/down (vertical when in playing position), than it is from left to right
And considering that most 3 way switches are made with the connection block (the bit under the pickguard where the wires attach), longer in line with the way the actual switch toggle moves, then you should have no problem, because at the moment, it is fitted across a narrower gap than it would be if you rotated it (in other words, it shouldn't hit any wood if you alter it)

thanks for the reply.
Actually, my blacktop is a bit different, the original position is the "yellow" one and I can't rotate it because it won't fit into the "red" position.
What I'm looking for is perhaps another kind of switch that can fit into the red line.
And if there is no other way around, is it safe to cut wood there?

They have these on Ebay , the backs are smaller than the normal blocks and although they are for Gibsons , they should fit
