Here we go! I want a good jag, so for lack of funds I need to do it myself.

First off, tell me all you can about this. Neck plate is stamped F and the serial number 182837. '65? Has most of the original shielding, but gone in the hummer cavity. Should I replace or repair?

It may look BAD, but what I have to work with is original body and plates, and shielding. It will need a lot, though. Tell me what you know!

Neck pocket leads me to believe that it was CAR.

After some stripping...

And from last night...

Now, down to business. Oly. White, Fiesta red, or OTM?

Nah, I'm a TORTZ kind of guy.

My only concern with OTM is that I've never sprayed lacquer, so metallics may be a little more difficult.

If tortoise floats your catamaran, go with aged Oly White. Or FRED.

I love pearloid, but only the old yellowed stuff. Does anyone sell aged pearloid?

Could look good with fiesta red too.

As has been explained by many a couple to their wee ones:

"We're working on it."

Well the red duo sonic body arrived today... the one I'm pairing with "your" neck. It's not as thick through it as the white one, which seems a bit odd. It's all original but is pretty slim. Supposedly it's a 66/67/68... not sure what's up with that but it'll work good. It's pretty aged and is going to look sweet with that dark amber neck.
