After reading the article about the mighty Electric XII and the other electric 12 stringers I hoped for a reissue, or a Pawn Shop in a short time...

Come on Fender!

The Pawnshop XII would sport three split-coil pickups instead of two, a five-way blade switch in place of the 4-way rotary selector and a reversed hockeystick head.

You can add a matching 6-string Custom/Maverick to that.

I saw a 12 string Strat quite recently--but somebody bought it.

I t may have been a used one in very good shape or a new one that was never sold.

But either way it was more than I can spend right now--but they are cool.

The Strat XII is no longer made.

The Strat XII is no longer made.

I am aware of that--that is why I worded my post the way I did.

I saw one in a store recently--so, since it is no longer made, it is either
1-used, but in very good shape--as it did not look used.
or
2-it was new (as in unsold--so never owned after the store)--not brand new as in newly made.

That does happen--they get made but not sent to a store right away--then the store doesn't get it right away, but the distributor has it for a while (I'm in Canada--that does happen. It did with my Mustang.) then the store finally gets it later, but for whatever reason, they don't display it right away--so it sits around for a while--even a couple of years--or more.

This was not a fake--it was at an authorized fender dealer.

Does that clarify for you what I meant?

fender japan are making this bad boy

im sure last year they had a strat XII listed aswell. if you want a 12 string, i would search for a MIJ one, might be easier to find.

i was in a shop here in the UK a couple of months ago, cant remember where i just remember seeing a 12 string strat in the corner.

The japanese Strat doubleneck is awesome, but it stills use the Gotoh 12-string bridge and regular strat neck and electronics.

I've got a MIJ Squier Venus XII in pristine condition, and she's as close as possible to the original Electric XII: individually adjustable 12-saddle bridge designed by Leo, split coil pickups wound by Seymour Duncan in the Custom Shop and a larger neck and heel. So after reading about the 12-stringers in the Guitararchive I was guessin' about an imminent reissue. The Electric XII, with her "hockey stick" headstock and the offset body is soaring high in the vintage market nowadays.

I was in another store and saw another one yesterday--this one wasn't high up, so I looked at it and discovered it was MIJ--so yeah--Fender Japan are making them, and there are some in Canada...

The original 1985 MIJ Strat XII sported the Electric XII bridge and a 22-fret neck.

A totally different beast than the 2005 reissue.

+1!

The Pawnshop series deserves a 12-string Venus!

Sound goods to me! They made a Bass VI again, so why not? I managed to try out an electric 12-string many moons ago and I loved the sound of it.

+1!

The Modern Player Coronado deserves a 12-string version with that hockey paddle head!

The Modern Player Electric XII and a matching 6-string Custom/Maverick would be a no brainer.

Still waiting . . . :?

When will it come?
What will it be?

Fender Strat XII reissue?
Pawn Shop model?
Maybe an Electric XII from Squier this time. Still enjoying my Squier Bass VI.

Hurry please, that inexpensive Dean Boca 12 is whispering to me. Not sure how much longer I can hold out.
