Paint is complete... time for wiring.

Can anyone see why this scheme wouldn't work? My only concern (so far) is the orientation of the pickups... having never used them and having no diagram for them included, I don't know I have them mounted correctly? Other than that it seems good to go but if anyone catches anything please let me know.

This wiring sceme worked perfectly if anyone wants to use it... 8)

Waiting for the first coat of shielding paint to dry on the red DSII body (pics to follow soon). Here's a little video from this morning... enjoy!

Here's some pics of the routing I used for this body... I failed to rout from the toggle to the neck pickup cavity last time and it led to me having to fish wires all over the place so this should simplify matters greatly... the routs for the wiring are only about 1/4". Whoever had the body previously did some routing of their own and it wasn't the cleanest work but all in all it's looking pretty good now.

A mock up shot...

All I can say is WOW! 8) Talk about a rocker... I thought it was going to need some nut work (and by that I mean a new nut) but I got to setting it up after I got the wiring done and it's amazing... the range of tones is fantastic and the switching is flawless, and like the white one I just finished, dead quiet. It looks very vintage but this thing will blow out the windows. Both pups sound great split and both cleans and heavier tones are outstanding IMO. This seals the deal with me and DiMarzio pickups... this is about the fifth model (Fast Track) I've tried over the years and every one is awesome, and they're reasonably priced which is nice. Anyhow, back to playing this little monster

No, neither of the DS/MM projects have an original guard... they're both from WD, which I've jokingly referred to as "wrong dimensions". In both cases, I had to plug the original p/g holes and drill new ones that matched the guard... not a big deal but if these were actual vintage restoration projects it would have presented a problem.

I (sparingly) use this weird ochre colored sharpie around the screw holes and to yellow/age plastic parts. It works pretty good and looks rather convincing IMO. Half the fun of these vintage or relic type projects in the parts aging/matching.
