I have a black top jag. Great guitar but the Low E string is impossiable to tune properly. The intonation is a little sharp but I can't move the saddle further away. It's ready tight against the bridge. Tried new strings and same thing. How can I adjust further when there is no room left? Looking for help

1- Are you sure the neck have not to much bow ? Two much bow = shorter guitar scale = must move saddle further away .
a- Be sure to know how to read neck bow ; capo on first fret , fret middle sting on the last fret and use feeler gauge . Forget your eyes or ruler.

2- Are you sure you tune right ? With ears or regular $100 ( or less) tuner ?

We can't trust $100 tuner but with some experience it work . I do few years before I buy Peterson Strobocope tuner

What string gauge are you using? Try 11's

If it doesn't have a power tube in the circuit...I'm not that interested

I have 11's . I will try adjusting the neck slightly. Might try raising the saddle a little as well but I like the action as is. Thanks guys! :D

Don't raise the saddle!

That is a tune-o-matic bridge correct?

Remove just that one Saddle and turn it around. You'll probably find that you'll have to move it closer to the neck with it turned around. In other words, if that saddle looks like this from the side /| turn it around so it looks like this |\.

I played with my LP forever trying to get it to intonate on the E and no go. Turned that one saddle around and "Bingo!"

Just unscrew and turn the one saddle, NOT the entire bridge.

If that works, you might try it on the "A" as well to make that one a little easier to intonate.
