I would like to change from stock Super 250R (.010 - .046) TO Super 250L (.009 - .042) on my Jag Special Edition Model : 025920. Liked the lighter gauge as on Strat! Any problems that anyone would know of?

Thanks much!!!!!

9s on a Jaguar will be looser than 9s on a Strat due to the shorter scale length. 10s on a 24" scale probably feel similar to 9s on a 25.5" scale guitar.

With "normal" Jags, heavier gauge strings tend to work better with the bridge/trem but you won't have those issues on the Special Edition HH.

No harm in giving it a go though and seeing what you prefer.

I use 0.011 on my Blacktop Jaguar HH. The stock 0.009 seemed very loose and out of tune. The Blacktop has a different bridge than the Special Edition.

If it doesn't have a power tube in the circuit...I'm not that interested

I made the change to the E Ball Super Slinky 0.09's. Slightly loose, thus far feels great, but will give it some time.
Well worth the try!!!!!

Thanks again!

My FSR Blacktop Jag came stock with .009s. I am surprised the Special Ed Jag comes with .010s

Tiger:

I did notice that your Jag came with .09's when looked at and thought the same. Go figure?
