I'm thinking of buying this pretty guitar from somebody but I'm a n00b and I there are some things that I'm not sure about. so I would really appreciate some input from the more experienced people.

1) seems to go out of tune often, especially after using the whammy bar.
2) It is Made in Japan, I thought it was supposed to be 'Murica ?!
3) is 800 Euros = 1041.44 US Dollars. is that a rip off?
4) There is no bridge cover, I've seen in many pictures it comes with one. is that an optional part or should it be included?
5) There is a background buzz noise that goes away when you touch a metal part of the guitar. The noise is still there even when both pickups are in Off position (middle).

please take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think. (click for large image)

Thanks

Looks like a legit MIJ Mustang reissue to me. I took a quick look at the serial numbers - Fender used the term "Made in Japan" and serial numbers that start with a "T" during 2 time frames - 1994-1995 and again 2007-2010.

Sorry, that's how I remember Mustang trems worked back in the late 70s. You have to do a lot of set-up to keep them in tune.

Mustangs haven't been made in the USA since say 1980-1981. Mustangs, Broncos, MusicMasters all went away at the same time.

I haven't priced them in a while; I would do a quick run of completed auctions on eBay in your country.

I'm not sure if the reissues had the bridge cover; I think some years they did and some years they didn't depending on which supplier Fender used for them.

Sounds like a shielding or grounding issue.

how does one should go about fixing this issue? wouldn't that be a defect of the guitar?

thanks you very much for the reply!

It is an inherent trait of all guitars equipped with single-coil pickups.

Deal with it. Or not.

But save for a pickup change to humbucking types, it will not go away.
