I was browsing through the the internet to find the more obscure fenders from the mid 60's to 80s. i stumbled upon two models that really caught my eye:

the Starcaster from the mid 70s-81, and the Electric XII from the mid 60s-late 60s/early 70s

I believe these should be reissued, wether it be in the pawn shop series or just a limited (or permanent) run

your views on this idea?

The Starcaster was an unsuccessful attempt from CBS to compete with Gibson's ES335.

That doesnt necessarily mean its a bas design. it was released too late in the market after gibson and grestch had too firm of a hold already. i played one at my local consignment shop and its sounds and feels AMAZING.

Then you should've bought it because it's highly unlikely that the Starcaster will ever be re-issued.

Gibson is reissuing the ES335S and all kinds of Firebirds and Epiphones and not all of them were succesful ¿why not re-launch the Fender XII and the Starcaster? Give them a couple of years to see if the fans like them and if they're not, put them away. You can find all kinds of 12-string guitars on the market and 99% of them are strung like the Fender. And you can see lots of guys on YouTube playing Beatles and Byrds songs and telling that they sound closer to real thing ¡¡¡but they sound like they are playing a Fender XII and not a Rickenbacker!!!
Fender should put those beauties on the market, that's for sure.
