Aside from the historical errors committed by Fuji-Gen, it seems to be nice instrument.

If you're hot to trot for a Jazzmaster, you could do a whole lot worse.

What do you mean ?
Its a bad instrument ? I was planing to buy the AVRI 62 but i HATE the nitro finish... I had a gibson SG with the same finish and it took me like 2 seconds after buying it to make a nice and big hole in the body. I prefer the poly c:.

I already have a american standard stratocaster but i love the jazzmaster mellow sound.
But first i need to sell it .... What do you say guys ? Its a bad option ?
I mean, the jazzmaster 66 Ri its inferior to a american standard strat ?
They´r differents i know but i want to know if its more inferior.. (Wood, finish, cuality, better or worse sound, etc)

Sorry for the subquestion x3

The guitar is not period-correct for a '66. :|

A '66 Jazzmaster should normally have a gold transitional decal in the headstock and a bound tuxedo neck with rectangular block-shaped fretboard markers.

So this is not a '66 reissue but a '62.

Japanese instruments are not reissues anyway so the point is moot. To the OP, look legit, as the poster above said, the S/N is light grey and isn't showing up on the photos. Get the seller to send you a close up of the neck plate area showing the S/N. These are great guitars. You have nothing to fear in my opinion.

But i dont understand... The 62 Ri its worse than the 66 Ri ? Or this´s a fender japan mistake ? Or even worse the seller make a mistake with the names ? Gah !!!
Sir chrome its seems that u dont like them at all... s: Its worse than the strat american standard ? I would be very dissapointed if i sell my strat to get a inferior one.
I didnt have a chance to try one after all.. I just tried the AVRi one and the CP a little, but i didnt like the CP JUMBO neck ! Its way too big for me because i have small hands c:

Haha, I don't think he's saying it's a bad guitar when he said "You could do a whole lot worse." More like "it's a good pick and you could do do worse by buying a lesser guitar instead of it." By the pictures, it looks pretty nice, so I think that's what he meant. Hope this helps!

As well, the neck plate should have the embossed Fender "F" and the volume and tone knobs would be the purpose-designed types that were introduced with the tuxedo neck appointments. These knobs resemble a skirted blackface amp knob but are instead white with a polished-silver insert at the top of the barrel.

The instrument as depicted is actually closer detail-wise to an early '60s edition. And to the OP -- these are very fine guitars. You may find the electronics to be somewhat lacking but the furniture and the cosmetic parts are well executed and finished, much like the MIJ/CIJ Stratocasters and Telecasters.
