Hey all...

Since Fender has a vested interest in Gretsch guitars, I figured I would be ok to chat about them. I'm a proud White Falcon owner. Any other Gretsch-heads out there?

I have owned 2, a Tennessee Rose and a Duo Jet. Great guitars, but I didn't click with either one so they are gone.

Gretsch is it!

I own a 2005 Silver Falcon (w/ Bigsby) with the nicely designed inlay and winged headstock. Granted it does not have the 1959 trestle bracing like the newer models, but the newer SFs are not really as intricately designed, i.e. the Neo Classic thumb inlays and plain headstock with tiny metal plate.

The wife also bought me a blue Brian Setzer Hot Rod (w/ the 1959 trestle bracing) a few years ago for the ol' birthday.

I also have a 1994 CIJ red Jazzmaster and a 1990 American made Squier Strat (what is it with me and Fender - though I have to admit I've owned others from Gibson and Hamer, since sold off).

I've gotta admit though that since owning the hollow bodies I can barely stand to pick up a solid or semi-hollow (am not a Ric fan) bodies. The hollow body is one beautiful guitar! Interestingly I play more like J Mascis (who's got his own sig JM now) or Thurston Moore than Chet Atkins. Yes, the hollow body can definitely rock out!

I've had 3 50's era Gretches - '56 Duo Jet, '56 6120, and '59 6119. The Duo Jet and the 6119 are gone, and the 6120 is going up for sale soon.

I wouldn't mind having a new Duo Jet with Filtertrons & Bigsby
