I plan to mount a Jaguar tremelo tailpiece on my MIJ HH model Jag. My question is dose the buttions underside butts up next to the tremelo plate (like my tremelo assembly)or should it have an edge that moves on top of the tremelo plate to solidly lock down tremelo plate?

The tremelo assembaly I bought, button butts up next to the tremelo plate and moves around not locking down the plate solidly for tuning. Is this normal or not? Also will I have to grown the tremelo plate? I'll keep an eye out for and wireing on the present hardtail.

Thanks ahead

This will tell you exactly how to set up the trem. Always remember you have to depress the tremolo arm slightly to get the lock to engage (and you push it away from the bridge).

Thanks Dinosauria for your advice. The problum is that my buttions under button is only getting between 1 to 3 100th's of an inch between the two plates and any pressure will reject the under button. I have a feeling theres something wrong with the Fender Jaguar tremelo tail piece I bought from T O G on line.

I droped a voice mail in to one of Fender's Az. reps and hope to here back some time after Turkey Day. He's been very helpfull with questions I've had about my MIJ Jag ... this is the bitchenést guitar I've ever had.

P.S. I've read the tremelo set up and it seems to confirm in photos that my lock button system is "to short" to do its job.
