I got this guitar last night from a guy that collects guitars. I was going there to buy a mim olympic white strat but his had sold it already and he didnt know. So for the inconvenience we made a deal on what he thought was a 70's re-issue jaguar in the olympic white color. I went ahead and got it because I have always wanted one and this one was older, sounded amazing, and looked beautiful. Getting home I was really excited so I wanted to know exactly what year my guitar was from. Well the only info I could go on was the serial number on the back plate. It reads "L 50763". When I looked that it up I was surprised to find out that the SN that start with an L are post cbs guitars and puts the guitar at a prod date of 1965. Im not an expert but I just want to verify with anyone here that is an expert.

We would need lots of photos to help you out - some detailed shots of the headstock, bridge, hardware including neck plate, etc.

By the way there weren't any Jaguar reissues in the 70s; I'm not sure when they stopped production but they didn't start reissuing them until the 1980s.
