I heard about these. They are apparently good for Alt. rock and grunge, and are quite rare and so are quite cheap. What does anyone think about them?

they play really easily because of the short scale neck, but they produce a little hum (ever tho they have humbuckers, probably more from bad electronics than the pickups)

The Jagmaster is a Squier product, the Jagstang is a discontinued Fender model

Hah, no the thing is I had never heard of them until recently. I thought "surely it's just someone getting confused with the Jagstang?" but then I found it's just rare because it's Squier only.

By the way, thanks for all your comments.

no problem. I have heard some good things about the jagmaster in the squier forums. I own a Jagstang myself and enjoy it.

I bought a Jagmaster about two months ago. Here are my observations.

Really low action. So low that the G and D strings buzz even when open. I had to adjust mine and it still buzzes. I believe the nut is too low.

Finish. Finish is nice and glossy, but there are some imperfections. Very slight marks at bottom of body, and minor discoloring on front. All are very small and subtle and require close inspection to see.

Tuners. The tuners are cheap. They feel cheap and they are probably the same ones on $100 Stratocasters you see in pawn shops.

I have Tele and a Les Paul and the Jagmaster is the most comfortable and easiet to play of the three. The body shape is great. It's the lightest of the three. But it's clearly a Chinese made guitar. I'm in the process of adjusting mine to correct the action, and I've had success but not completely. I've never heard any hum from mine. It's a good beginner to intermediate guitar and a good price. I got mine from Guitar Center's 10% off sale. The above issues can be annoying but can be fixed, maybe with the help of a good guitar tech.

Ah that's helpful. Changing tuners isn't too difficult if you know what you're doing. Those are some helpful things to know which obviously, Squier won't mention. It's good to hear from people who have played them. Thanks again.

I haven't heard veray much about the jagmaster because of its low rating( don't take this seriously though in my opinion the jagmaster is a good guitar.)
But now that I have heard so much about this guitar from this link I think I'll get one. 8)

Hey guys my Jagmaster turned up this afternoon. I took it out of the box and was surprised to see what looked liked Schallers tuning pegs. I'm not sure they are, however they tune like them. The neck is distinctly smaller. I thought it was a 3/4 size at first. It's got a really smooth, nice, playable neck. There's plenty of variety amongst the pickups. All the hardware except the knobs is very high quality. Even the fretboard is nice and dense, and there's no big holes in there. It required little setting up. I shaved the edges of the frets a little. and hightend the action ever so slightly so it didn't buzz. Now it's perfect. Just like everyone else, I fully recommend one. Only Squier make them and they're very much "Fender quality" and Squier's seem very good for the prices right now. A sign of a good guitar: It sounds good acoustically. Very resonant.

Does your G string (third from bottom) buzz after your action adjustment? Mine does, even after I raised it a bit.

Hello Fendergh@tiscali.co.uk,

I've seen them hanging on the wall
at the guitar superstore, hopefully
Sunday I'll get a chance to give one a try.
They look pretty neat.

Cheers.
