The website says that this guitar comes fitted with NPS 9-42 strings. Is there any more information available on exactly which type of string they are (there seem to be a few in the Fender range, like the 250Ls and the Standard Tensions). They have brass-coloured ball ends (not colour coded like the ones I've seen for sale recently).

I really thought (by feel alone) that they might be 10-46, but the website apparently claims 9-42 as standard. I checked with the guitar shop, and they sold it to me straight out of the box; they did not set it up or change the strings from the stock ones.

Thanks!

Just replaced the strings on a Squier VM Jaguar with D'Addario Half-Round 11-46. The original strings appear to be .10-.013-.017-.024-0.32-.042.

Great, thanks for the info. Have you got a digital gauge then? I had no idea how to estimate the measurements.

I hadn't seen any sets of Fender or D'Addario strings in a 10-42 but I'll take another look an see if I can find some online!

No digital gauge. Just comparing the strings I removed to other string sets I have. Don't know that there is a pre-packaged set like that, but these guitars can certainly use a bit heavier gauge of strings.
