I have my eye on a 76 Stang in natural finish and would like to know if it could be US or Japanese made or either. I am not opposed to this being Japanese but US made would be sweeter. I dont have access to the guitar. I would be buying from photos. I cant tell from the photos. This info would help in negoiations. I have a Strat, Tele and PBass all in natural so now I need a Stang. Besides, I have always wanted one. Thanks!

In 1976 all Fender guitars were still being made in Fullerton, California, United States of America.

American made is correct--that's older than my Mustang--made in Fullerton.

Great choice on a Mustang--so now you need a J Bass, Jaguar, Jazzmaster, etc.

That GAS was already there--buying gear only feeds more GAS...
